Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe was presented to G4TV by one of the fathers of Mortal Kombat, Ed Boom~! On the video shown, the selection screen suggests that there will atleast be 20 characters, with the 10 revealed so far being: SubZero, Superman, Liu Kang, Captain Marvel, Scorpion, Batman, Shang Tsung, the Flash, Catwoman, and Sonya Blade. The game will implement a system where one player initiates a Clinch and must press corresponding buttons to attack while the other blocks and counters (someone must be a fan of PRIDE Fighting Championships especially Yoshihiro Takayama and Don Frye LOL). Also there will be a Free Falling combat systems which is what I imagine Ground and Pound in MMA to be if people could fly like dragon Ball characters. Also, players can play a “Test of Strength” in matches where one players attempts to dash the other out into another background with the defending player trying to minimize damage. Boon also described “Professional” versions of Special Attacks where they have advanced implementations. The DC Villains and Mortal Kombat fighters have Fatalities while our Justice League members use Brutalities (with Superman literally pounding people into the ground). Here is a video courtesy of Game Trailers. The game is schedule for a November 17 release for the X-Box 360 and PlayStation 3. Next week at ComicCon, two more characters will be revealed. Stay tuned to this same Bat site for more info.

WWE SmackDown! vs RAW 2009 by Yukes and published by THQ was introduced to G’s Zach Selwyn 4 by none other than the WWE Tag Team Champions, John Morrison and the Miz. The game will now feature a “Create A Finisher” where as much as 10 of the 500 or so frames in the game can be used to create a new Finisher move. The Nintendo DS version of the game will have a limited Create-A-Wrestler mode and the PS3 and X-Box 360 versions will have customizable soundtrack options. According to “the Shaman of Sexy,” the Hot Tags in the Tag Team mode have been tweaked as have Referee Distraction by the Computer and Human partners on the apron. Confirmed in the game are Miz, Morrison, Shawn Michaels, HHH, and John Cena. This segment of the coverage featured Colin Delaney getting beat up by the Champs. The segment can be found at Game Trailers. The game is tentatively to be scheduled for release in November for the Nintendo DS, Sony PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3, X-Box 360, and Nintendo Wii console systems.

WWE Legends of WrestleMania was also shown a video of at E3. The legendary WrestleMania III match at the Pontiac SilverDome between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant was video demoed. Bobby “the Brain” Heenan and Jim Ross are also confirmed to be in the game. The game will have the feel of Arcade wrestling games (think Giant Gram) and completely new animations will be used for attacks. The CAW mode will be more limited to the movesets and the fashion sense of the 1980s. Jereme Warneck of F4W gives an in-depth preview on his own blog. Here is a video courtesy of IGN.

– A video for Last Remnant by Squaresoft Enix, was shown at E3. Showcased are the protagonist Rush, the Conquerer (who is said to be designed for American RPG tastes), and the aforementioned Yama and Mithra races. The Remnant in the title signifies powerful artifacts found in the world of the game. The voice acting for the US version will be done first. Apparently this will be the first of many Square games to utilize the Unreal Engine 3. Tsuyoshi Sekito of Advent Children and Final Fantasy III DS fame will be composing the music in this one. Although the PlayStation 3 and Windows PC release date is not known yet, the game will be released worldwide on the X-Box 360 supposedly on November 30 (if I had the money and cared to get the next gen systems more, I would feel hardpressed due to having to split time between MK vs DC and this one).

– The wheels of time do indeed turn again as Chrono Trigger DS was previewed via video at the E3. Join Chrono, Marle, Lucca, and their friends Frog, Ayla, and Robo and recreate the adventure that spans through to the End of Time.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen, the classical RPG , will be remade for the Nintendo DS and will be released on September 16, 2008. A video is here via G4.

Rise of the Argonauts by Codemasters was also shown at E3. You take the role of mythical Jason in the game and depending on which God you show affinity towards that deity was bless you with its skills through the game like a job system. Heres a video courtesy of G4.
