Jack Skellington, the “Pumpkin King” suffers a bout of what seems to be the melancholy, and in the process discovers the holiday of Christmas. Thus the premise for the Nightmare Before Christmas, one of my best friend’s favorite movies. Yet I could not feel the same way. The plot did not seem as fleshed out compared to other “Disney” films (such as Beauty and the Beast) and other Tim Burton films (such as Beetlejuice). However, the visuals for this film are stunning, which makes the cast of characters from Jack Skellington to Sally to Oogie Boogie, and the Halloween Town and Christmas Town settings especially memorable.
