Madman is a 1982 summer campground slasher film. It took the better elements (i.e. suspenseful kills, irony) from the original Friday the 13th instead of what pervades most of the films in the genre (gore for the sake of gore). Compared with the modern horror films, there is less gore albeit those who love their decapitations will get their fill.  Also, I love the fact that the slasher isn’t just some regular douchey guy in a mask. Most of the characters are generic but the main protagonist shows guts in the end. If you loved the Burning or Hatchet, you would like this film.
