Was Looper overrated? Sure it was. There were unanswered questions remaining at the end, and pardon my pun, numerous loopholes in the writing. Maybe it would have been better as a 13 episode anime series or comic book maxi series. However, Looper had interesting concepts and asked interesting questions in regards to time travel, paradoxes, and causation. In addition, the actors gave great performances; although the more laconic Bruce Willis was brilliant in his role, Joseph Gordon-Levitt may have performed a defining role in his acting career as the younger Joe Simmons. Overall, the film was a satisfying Saturday night viewing experience.
