George A. Romero’s Martin is about the titular tragic young man struggling with what appears to be vampirism, or so his granduncle claims. The lighting in the film creates an ambience suited for the setting of a dying town. The black and white cut-aways and the pacing of the film add greatly to the chaotic mindset of the lead. The movie also explores unique themes for the vampire genre that I have not yet come across on the screen. If there is any truth of a possible remake in the works, then I wait with baited breath for a film to expand on the concepts presented.
