When I was a kid of 3 years old, there was a commercial on TV that scared me the most.  It was for the Howling.  Now that I have seen this likeable film, I think FOX or whatever network aired those commercials over-hyped the fear factor.   With that said, there were moments considered terrifying but there was much camp also.  The strongest feature of the movie was not the script but the makeup and visual effects used to create the werewolves and the transformations into thus.  Having said that, the wolf motifs in the film were brilliant especially when Allen Ginsburg’s Howl made a cameo.  Not must see but…
