I love the productions involving by the Wayans Brothers.  From In Living Color to their titular Wayans Bros program, I had many laughs in my youth.  Thus in 2001, when I saw the DVD of the star-studded horror parody Scary Movie I had a shit-eating grin for almost 2 hours.  They ribbed on many of the top teen slasher horror films of the time such as Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, of which I was not  a huge fan of either.  Also, with the cast’s attire and references, I was able to enjoy this satire of the entire 90s decade, which I was a teenager in, done in 90 minutes.  In addition, the writing and acting for Anna Faris, and the Wayans brothers were awesome.  How does the film hold up today?  I think its still alright.  Which leads us to the fourth film in their series…

Beginning sometime after the third movie in the series, Scary Movie 4 follows Cindy Campbell as she embarks on a new job as a home attendant in what appears to be a haunted house.  From that point forth, we get a mish mash of ribs on  horror genre cinema such as Saw, The Grudge (US version), War of the Worlds (which confused the hell out of me as I thought it was a parody of the old Tripods sci- fi books and TV series, and other films such as Brokeback Mountain.  And I did not understand most of the jokes.  The plot was not as tightly written as the first two in the series.   The movie seemed to progress randomly at times.  The series seemed to have finally worn  out its welcome (seriously I originally thought I was watching the third movie at first) There is so very little positive about Scary Movie 4, aside from the one or two laughs my friends and I shared.  Was this film a steaming pile of crap?  Almost.
