Lucha Report for 8/30

Posted by invizweb on August 30, 2008

Thanks to Kris Z.

AULL has announced that there will be a special benefit show for Scorpio Jr. on 9/20 at Arena Lopez Mateos featuring their regulars and top independent stars like Black Terry, Intocable, Fuerza y Juventud Guerrera, Rambo, Super Calo, Toscano, and others.

Shocker and EMLL directors are on shaky terms again and he isn’t being booked right now due to philosophical differences as Shocker wants to reform the Guapos by bringing in Zumbido but that isn’t in the plans right now. Shocker is an independent contractor so he can pretty much work wherever he wants.

Solar I stated yesterday that he knows he is going to be facing some tough foes tomorrow in Tultitlan in the big 10 man steel cage match with the loser being either shaved or losing their mask but he is going into the match very confident. Solar said that he has put his mask up on many occasions and has survived every time so he thinks that this should be no different and he feels extra motivated this time after touring England last month. Solar said that the fans in London were great and they made him feel like a hero so it has revitalized him and he plans on taking someone’s mask tomorrow and not losing his.

Zumbido said yesterday that leaving EMLL four years ago was a big mistake and that he has been in talks with people in the offices about a return but wants to meet up with Paco Alonso face-to-face to seal the deal. Zumbido said that EMLL was his home and that he hopes that Paco will understand that he made a mistake and would take him back hopefully by January. Zumbido then said that if that doesn’t happen then he would still work independent and hopefully get some random bookings for EMLL to build back their confidence in him.

Lucha Report for 8/25

Posted by invizweb on August 26, 2008

Thanks to Kris Zellner

EMLL confirmed today that Mistico suffered a fractured collarbone last night in Guadalajara and will be out of action for 3 months. Mistico was rushed to Hospital Obregon in Mexico City last night after the show where he underwent surgery and Dr. Jorge Alonso Orozco announced this morning Mistico’s prognosis.

EMLL also confirmed today that Hector Garza had surgery at Hospital Obregon on his right knee this weekend after being injured Friday night at Arena Mexico and he will be out of action for at least 3 weeks.

Luchas 2000 is reporting that Sean Waltman could be on his way to EMLL with Marco Corleone being his go-between with Paco Alonso. Waltman had decided to quit working AAA recently due to being upset with the backstage scene that interferes with his recovery from drug rehab. More on this as it comes.

Scorpio Jr. was also taken to Hospital Obregon on Friday night with two bleeding ulcers that he underwent surgery for on Saturday. There really isn’t a set prognosis for a return to the ring yet.

Lucha Report for 7/5

Posted by invizweb on July 6, 2008

Thanks to Kris Zellner and Robert Bihari.

EMLL started a brand new 90 minute news show on MVS today anchored by Leobardo Magadan, Julio Cesar Rivera, & Tania Licona and they will tell the news of the week along with having special features. This week features Mistico talking about going to the Olympics in Beijing, an interview with Paco Alonso about the current state of events, Shocker teaching some wrestling, among other highlights.

Negro Casas talked about beating on his former partner Mistico last night at Arena Mexico and said that it felt good ripping the mask of that ingrate. Negro said that Mistico thought that he had surpassed him but that would never happen because he would never be as good as he is. Negro said that Mistico is nothing but an altar boy who has no experience outside of Mexico like he has and that if he keeps on sticking his nose in his business then he would rip his mask off.

Perro Aguayo Jr. said today that trophies, masks, titles, or scalps don’t interest him but the only thing that does is that the fact that he is the best in the world makes him happy. Perrito won the Grupo A cibernetico for the Leyenda de Plata last night and said that it was easy but it would be even easier winning the whole thing. Perrito knows that Mistico will probably be waiting for him and he beats him all the time so it shouldn’t be a problem.

Zorro is out of action again as he suffered a shoulder injury last night in Atlixco and will be out of action for about a month.

Lucha Report for 7/2 (new site feature)

Posted by invizweb on July 3, 2008

Thanks to Kris Zellner

Hijo del Fantasma stated yesterday that he is on cloud nine right now being a 25-year-old co-holder of the CMLL Trios Titles and winning the Generacion 75 Torneo Cibernetico last week. He went on to say that he has great momentum right now and wants a shot at either Atlantis’ NWA Lt. Heavyweight Title or Rey Bucanero’s CMLL Lt. Heavyweight Title. Fantasma was asked about how his contemporaries feel about his sudden jump up the cards and he said that he takes advantage of any opportunity that comes his way and that they shouldn’t be jealous just motivated to put themselves in that position as well. Fantasma said that Hector Garza is playing a huge role at this time of his career and is giving him key advice on what to do and what not to do.

Shocker was asked yesterday about the fans lately booing him on shows instead of cheering him since he is a tecnico and he said that he is the same whether it be tecnico or rudo. Shocker said that if the fans want him to be on the rudo side of things then he would do it because their opinions matter the most. Shocker also knows though that Los Perros del Mal have a big fanbase and that they shouldn’t be put in the same area as the regular fans because of their prejudice. Shocker also talked about his losing to Atlantis on Sunday in their match for the NWA Lt. Heavyweight Title and he said that he wants another match against him but this time in a caballera contra mascara match since taking Atlantis’ mask would be the ultimate trophy for his career. Shocker also called out long-time rivals Rey Bucanero & Ultimo Guerrero saying that they are on notice as well and he wants their hair and mask respectively. Shocker then talked about returning to TNA and said that he would be very appreciative if they wanted to book him again and that it will probably happen soon since there is a working agreement between EMLL & TNA.

Speaking of TNA, Ultimo Guerrero told the Mexican press yesterday that he enjoyed his trip so much that he would like to work there regularly maybe even permanently for a few months so he could travel the US. UG said that he would still work for EMLL at times if this happened but he feels that at this time of his career he needs to branch out and to seek new horizons along with setting new goals to achieve. UG was also taken aback by how different TNA was than EMLL and that he was blown away by how good they handled their business saying that he was going in with some trepidation. He went on to say that the matches are shorter than he is used to but it means that he has to work harder to give the fans what they want. UG then promised again to bring the World X Cup back to Mexico because they are the best in the world.
